In midst of the crisis of Europe, I could work with students of a 12th grade of the Waldorfschool in Stuttgart on the creation of a Sacred Place in Philippi near the beautiful city of Kavala.
Right next to several ancient pedroglyphs-stones on the hillsite next to the ancient city of Philippi, where the Apostel Paulus baptised the first European, we were asked to connect our artistic work with these two historical streames.3h>
The energy of this landscape moves in a huge spiral along the mountain scenary towards the Sacred Place.
For our sculptural motives we have chosen the topic:
” The HUMANS in the PAST, the PRESENT and the FUTURE.”
One 4meter high standing stone carries the motives, while two big marble tables spred the energy far out into the land.
The whole two-weekes project meant a lot to the participants and the people of Philippi.
Around 400 inhabitants of the small village came to see our new sculptures and the Sacred Place at our opening ceremony, which we gave the name: “Place of the changing times”
